4.3.1 Yes, Dad. I Can Hear You! I'm Choosing to Ignore You

Maynah Josephine Lourellen Borja Erece is gifted and talented. She is a scholar, a ballerina, a writer, an academic, and twice-exceptional. This session will tell the story from her own perspective and from those who are dear to her about the many challenges and struggles to develop her many gifts and talents while trying to adjust to mainstream school programs that were not designed for students with hearing loss.

Maynard Erece presented in Australia on the topic of giftedness about his son, Jozef. This time he presents the topic of giftedness for twice gifted children about his daughter, Maynah. Maynah Erece is a ballerina, a school cultural leader, an athlete and an academic. She has just been awarded the Vice-Chancellor's Australia award by the University of Southern Queensland. For all her achievements and accolades, people are always taken by surprise to learn that she also has severe hearing loss.
