2.5.6 Benefits of Holistic Assessment from a German Perspective
Despite humanitarian efforts to identify and provide appropriate support for the socio-emotional and academic needs of gifted children in Germany, studies suggest children remain at risk. In 2012, committee members of the German Association for the Gifted Child (DGhK) learned of an approach combining method and technology to add value to on-going identification processes. In this presentation, recent real-world cases illustrate the potency of this strength-based, holistic partnership and how the insights it provides raise the levels of knowledge and understanding that improve interventions and contribute to the realization of young people’s academic, creative, and practical potential.
