23 A Possible School: The Educational Center for High Capacities

The High Capacity Educational Center of Jalisco (CEPAC), is a full-time public, educational innovation school of the basic level, aimed at children from 6 to 12 years of age with an IQ equal to or greater than 130. It offers attention in a space adapted and equipped especially to carry out the integral learning that they demand through two specific actions: Proedin, Innovative Educational Program where part of the curricular plan established by the Secretary of Public Education (SEP) and takes the curricular differentiation of according to the educational needs that the students present, where what prevails is the deepening and complexity of the contents and work in the form of 2.0 classrooms using project-based teaching; E-Lab, extracurricular enrichment through the laboratories offered: STEM, Innovation and Creativity, Learning commons, Art and Social-Emotional Competencies. E-Lab have two main functions: Be spaces of stimulation, enrichment and identification of specific skills and / or talents and, development of talent of those students who were identified in a specific area. STEM, works in science, technology, engineering and mathematics through Labdisc, mBlock, Math-Whizz and Science projects. Innovation and Creativity, aims to develop creative and innovative thinking to achieve projects that impact your community, through three modules: Let the ideas rain, creativity in action and change agent. Learning commons, through a library and virtual resources we work on reading, writing, playful activities and reflection through the narration of texts, autonomous reading, creative writing and debate workshop. Art, aims to provide a global knowledge of the culture of Fine Arts in order to increase the artistic sensitivity of children and increase their knowledge of culture and art through the system of Carl Off. Socio-emotional competences, its purpose is to strengthen these in the students so that they have the necessary tools that allow them to be autonomous, self-controlled, social and personal well-being individuals. It consists of three major articulated axes: Me and the others, Positive Emotions and Emotional Intelligence. The laboratories work daily with a duration of 60 minutes, taking one to two weekly sessions in each laboratory per group. On Saturdays the specific workshops are carried out according to the aptitude detected in each child.
