A Follow-Up Study of Gifted Preschool Program Students: The Factors Influencing Talent Development from Childhood to Adulthood

In 2003, the Special Education Center at National Taiwan Normal University launched an enrichment program for gifted preschool children, conducted over four sessions with a total of 73 participants. This study employed a semi-structured interview method, interviewing 9 gifted students from academic domains and 9 from artistic domains. The interview data were coded using NVIVO15 software, with coding validity verified through peer review. The findings revealed that factors influencing talent development, spanning from personal to sociocultural dimensions, include convergent themes and divergent patterns. The interaction of these factors gives rise to unique stories of individual talent development.
