Stories of Success: Strength-Based, Talent-Focused Teaching and Learning for Twice Exceptional Students Works!

For the past twenty years, Bridges Academy, a school for 2e students (grades 4-12) has taken a strength-based, talent-focused approach to learning where enrichment is considered an essential component of the curriculum, not an extra or an elective. Using the success stories of five Bridges Academy graduates, we will describe how the knowledge of students’ strengths, talents, and interests provides a powerful framework for K-12 curriculum instruction and design, post-secondary decision making, and aligned career choices.
