Panel: Giftedness and Twice Exceptionalities from Different Perspectives of Experts from Brazil, Germany, and the United States

through a combination of scientific research and their own experiences working with 2e students. A significant number of barriers exist in the identification process as well as in the programming process. It is common to encounter misconceptions regarding the existence of giftedness and talent as well as other educational exceptionalities including the influence of socioeconomic factors on the identification of early giftedness and the limitations of IQ testing. These misunderstandings have a negative impact on identification, resulting in programming that excludes or minimizes these students' participation. Our role as advocates is to continue to educate stakeholders about the wide variety of gifts within the students, as well as the overwhelming incidence of twice exceptionality within the gifted population. Multi-dimensional and inclusive programming can be successfully identified and crafted when we take into consideration multiple perspectives.
