Unlocking Possibilities: How Parent-School Partnerships Foster Talent Development

In a changing world, the development of gifted learners depends on strong home-school partnerships. This presentation examines the critical role of collaboration, highlighting the shared expertise of educators as pedagogical leaders and parents as experts in their child’s lived experiences. Underpinned by Colangelo and Dettman’s (1983) model, participants will explore interactional dynamics and an evolving framework emphasizing communication, aligned goals, whole-child support, and talent manifestation. Case studies from 60+ combined years of teaching experience illustrate real-world applications, offering actionable strategies to overcome challenges. Together, parents and educators can create environments where gifted learners thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
