Adult-Age Giftedness Identification: Motivators and Transformations

Studying late identification of gifted adults could help uncover overlooked talents, foster self-understanding, and address emotional challenges like impostor syndrome. It informs tailored interventions, supports lifelong development, and contributes to society by empowering gifted individuals to actualize their potential, benefiting personal well-being and broader community progress (Brown & Peterson, 2022; Rin & Bishop, 2015). Responses from 68 French-speaking adults to an online questionnaire developed by the Phoenix International Research Group were analyzed. This presentation explores the motivations for and reactions to giftedness identification in adulthood using a thematic analysis to examine the multifaceted dimensions of the process.
