The Social Return on Investment (SROI) of Mawhiba Gifted Programs

Social Return on Investment (SROI) is a framework that quantifies the social, environmental, and economic value generated by an organization relative to its activities. King Abdulaziz & his Companions Foundation for Giftedness & Creativity (Mawhiba) measures the SROI to enhance the positive social and educational impacts of its programs. A comprehensive study was conducted to calculate the SROI across its programs from 2019 to 2022. This study adhered to the principles of the Social Value International organization, following a seven-step process that includes defining the scope, engaging stakeholders, and analyzing outcomes (Social Value International, 2012). Data were collected through detailed questionnaires aimed at key stakeholders: students, parents, teachers, and schools. The evaluation covered four programs: Mawhiba classes, enrichment programs, research initiatives, and competitions. The findings indicate that the total SROI is ten, signifying that every one Saudi Riyal invested in these programs yields a social return of SAR ten.
