Positive Education as a Methodology for Supporting Gifted Girls

Ravenswood school for girls is a leader in positive education. Using this Pos-Ed framework, the school has developed a range of bespoke programs to support the unique academic and psychosocial needs of gifted girls. This presentation focuses on two specific programs, the gifted coaching program (GC) and gifted electives (GE). The GC program sees individual teachers participate in coaching conversations with identified students. The GE program sees gifted students participate in cross-subject electives that draw upon psychological and neurological research to develop a deeper understanding of their own ‘mindedness’ through a Positive Education methodology.
