Equity in Gifted Education
The project Equity in Gifted Education addresses the persistent challenge of ensuring equitable opportunities for gifted students from disadvantaged backgrounds. Operating in the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, and Kosovo, the project fosters inclusivity in gifted education through innovative tools, programmes, and collaboration among stakeholders. Key initiatives include culturally sensitive identification protocols using a cognitive ability test, an academic language programme, and a parent participation framework to enhance family-school engagement. With over 300 students already tested, the project integrates psychometric validation, ethical oversight, and stakeholder collaboration to create scalable frameworks. Insights aim to inform global practices, bridging socio-economic gaps in gifted education.
