Panel: Socio-Emotional Development in Context: Perspectives from Scotland, Brazil, the United States, Germany, and Spain

Gifted students can be impacted by bullying or experience frustration and anxiety in the school. Recognising this is a worldwide phenomenon, experts from five countries will present key approaches to the socio-emotional development of gifted students. Methods utilised include a literature review, semi-structured interviews with empirical studies and Critical Policy Discourse Analysis. The panel will argue that socio-emotional development needs to be considered in tandem with the cognitive development. This multicultural panel will argue that systematically addressing the social and emotional aspects of gifted students will contribute to their holistic development.
