Considering the Transformative Impact of Creativity Training on the Work and Lives of Teachers

The purpose of this study was to examine teacher perceptions of the transformative impact of Piirto’s Creativity Model and personal creativity exploration. Creativity training has been part of the presenter’s graduate gifted program for over 20 years using the Piirto Organic Creativity model and other creativity models. Significant course time focuses on teachers’ own creativity through activities such as Thought Logs, a Meditation Day field trip, and a personal creativity project. This study examines alumni perceptions of personal creativity exploration in their teaching lives and connects those perceptions to the teaching of creativity and creative teaching of young 21st century learners.
