Trials and Triumphs: The Exploration of the 2e Woman's Journey to Success
Because little is known about the journeys of 2e women, this comparative case study examined the trials and triumphs of the lived experiences of six twice exceptional women at various stages in their lives. Three major categories were revealed--understanding the complex profile; understanding and implementing support mechanisms that enabled these women, and finding self-acceptance and self-care. These core categories represented the sequential benchmarks of their psychological journey, which aligned to both Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs and Morris Life Stages theory. The results should support young 2e women in preparing for their own life’s journey.
