Challenges and Development Strategies in the Professional Practice of Itinerant Teachers for Gifted Education

Itinerant service for gifted students is a form of diverse service in gifted education, where teachers travel to provide services, extending gifted education to rural areas or regions with fewer students. In Taiwan, the itinerant service of gifted education has grown rapidly in recent years, with many novice teachers joining the field. However, there are currently no professional guidelines available, leaving novice teachers to explore on their own. Based on agency as its theoretical foundation, this article analyzes practical conditions and theoretical perspectives to propose strategies that support the professional practice of itinerant teachers for gifted education.
