Essential Elements of Curriculum for Advanced Young Learners

Many advanced young learners enter early learning environments where the emphasis is on teaching them basic academic skills—precisely what they already know! In this session, presenters will share essential elements of designing curriculum and instruction, whether it is a structured, articulated curriculum or an inquiry-based emergent curriculum that fosters engagement through relevant and challenging learning experiences. Participants will explore examples of how children can pursue answers to their own questions, engage in learning that aligns with their strengths and interests, and develop intellectually, socially, and emotionally.
