Standardized Scales for Identifying Behavioral Characteristics of Gifted Students in the Field of Technology

Gifted students are key to a nation’s growth, especially in technology, where their skills can push society forward. However, there are few tools to find these students based on their behavior in technology. This study looks at existing tools to identify gifted students in technology and checks if they can be used in Jordan. The research reviews two main tools: Renzulli’s Scale for Rating the Behavioral Characteristics of Superior Students in Technology and Ontario’s Student Technology Skills Rating Scale (Junior Division). The study finds that there are very few tools worldwide, especially in the Arab world, to identify these students. It suggests creating a Jordanian version of these tools, using technology as a main way to find gifted students, and doing more research in this area. This work aims to help find and support gifted students in technology, so they can use their skills to drive innovation and progress.
