Uncovering Talents: High Abilities and Giftedness in a World of Challenges

Identifying children and adolescents with high abilities and giftedness is like finding hidden treasures: a challenge that requires care, attention and knowledge. The search becomes even more complex when these unique talents are accompanied by other conditions, such as Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or behavioral difficulties. In this panel, we will explore case studies that reveal the challenges and potential of those who also face other conditions, and how schools and professionals are using different approaches to identify and support them, considering the qualitative analysis of specific cases and the use of standardized instruments.
