Panel: Adaptive Teacher Professionalization to Promote Self-Regulated Learning in Gifted Education

This panel introduces the diFF project as part of the Germany-wide federal-state initiative, Promoting Excellence in School Education, for the professionalization of teachers in adaptive, self-regulated, and research-based learning formats for potentially high-performing students. First, we present the project structure, beginning with a survey on the conditions for successful implementation from the first phase. Second, we discuss insights from the second phase, focusing on scaling up the project through a train-the-trainer model and ensuring fidelity in implementation. Finally, we explore teachers’ roles as learning facilitators, emphasizing scaffolding within the zone of proximal development and the competencies required for effective support.
