Panel: GLIMPSING the World through Underserved Gifted Learner’s Perspectives to Identify Strengths and Develop Talents

Explore the experiences and complex profiles of high-ability students from low-income contexts, who are English Learners, Immigrants, and Twice-Exceptional. Great disparities still exist in their identification with a lack of relevant placements and programs to meet their needs (GERI21, 2021). This US grant-funded project aims to identify the unique abilities of these students from 180+ countries. Teacher leaders from 14 low-income schools received training and higher education in best practices, including the use of simulations and A.I.to implement schoolwide innovations and Talent Development. Research and results on the impact of professional learning and school transformation will be shared in this panel.
