Riding the Rollercoaster of Parenting a 2e Child

Rollercoaster enthusiasts anticipate and enjoy wild rides. They embrace feelings of anticipation slowing leading up to an expected thrill. Mistakenly believing what the loop entails, they can underestimate the intensity when being turned upside down-- especially afterwards, when they are on a straight rail then sidelined by u-turns. Finally, the slowing car reaching home mimics their slowing heartbeats as they prepare to exit the exhilarating, joyful, and scary ride. For families of 2e children, their ride raising these extraordinary people doesn’t end. This session explores thrills and fears of rearing 2e children, including tools to help families enjoy the ride.
