Creativity and Giftedness: Perceptions of Specialists from Different Parts of the World?
This original research aims to investigate the perceptions of professionals from Brazil, Portugal, Spain, the United States, and Australia, involved in the education of gifted children, regarding the development of creativity in teaching. The methodology is qualitative and exploratory, using online forms with open-ended questions. The partial results show that most professionals define creativity as the ability to conceive new and original ideas, solutions, or products through imagination and innovative thinking. There is concern that teaching excessively focused on creativity may neglect other types of talents, such as analytical logic, which are important for balanced development. In this sense, it is proposed that creativity be integrated in a balanced and structured way into the education of gifted students. The conclusion is that there is a need for teacher training classes that integrate innovation and practices that promote the development of creativity.
