Dance Motivation and Personality Traits in Ballet Students and Non-Dancing Youth
This study explores differences in dance motivation and personality traits between ballet school students and non-dancing adolescents. Ballet students engage in daily dance training, while non-dancing youth participate in dance occasionally, suggesting differing motivational profiles. The research examines 130 adolescents (68 dancers, 62 non-dancers) aged 13-18 years, using the Dance Motivation Inventory (DMI) and Ten Item Personality Inventory (TIPI). Hypotheses suggest that dancers score higher in Physical Fitness, Mastery, Introversion, and Openness to New Experiences. The study aims to identify statistically significant differences in motivation and personality traits between groups. In the presentation the obtained results will be discussed.
