Unlocking Potential: Escape Room-Based Group Therapy for Gifted Children

This presentation explores an innovative model to group psychological therapy for gifted children integrating escape room methodology. Drawing from practical experience, we demonstrate how intellectually stimulating environments can effectively address gifted children's emotional and social challenges. The escape room format along with psychological tools uniquely combines cognitive engagement with therapeutic goals, providing real-time opportunities to address key developmental areas such as competitiveness, fear of failure, group participation, and self-confidence. Clinical observations show how this approach enhances emotional growth, effective peer communication and teamwork, and adaptive coping strategies. Implications for gifted education and therapy will be discussed, highlighting the importance of holistic approaches that nurture both cognitive and emotional development among gifted individuals.
