Invenio: Game-based Screening System for Talent Search in Primary School Children

The poster presents the development and practical use of Invenio – a screening system created for the identification of gifted primary school students. Invenio is a battery of cognitive tests, based on the CHC theory of intelligence, comprising tools for measuring fluid intelligence, visualization, learning efficiency, processing speed and some other abilities. The whole system makes use of a game-based assessment paradigm: individual tests are framed as computer games in order to enhance children’s motivation and to reduce potential test anxiety. The tests are administered online, thus allowing large talent searches encompassing thousands of children.
