Panel: Identification of Giftedness: Approaches in Areas of Interest, Abilities, and Behaviors
Identifying giftedness is essential for promoting effective learning and meeting the needs of exceptional students. This paper presents four identification checklists: areas of interest, abilities, behaviors, and developmental framework. Areas of interest include science, arts and technology, abilities include logical reasoning, creativity and leadership, and behaviors including curiosity, persistence, and autonomy. In addition, the Developmental Milestone involves a questionnaire to be filled in by parents about biological developmental milestones. The practical presentation aims to provide tools for educators and education professionals in identifying and supporting gifted students.
