Bridging the Gap: Parallels Between K-12 Gifted Education and University Honors Colleges
This presentation explores the parallels between K-12 gifted education and university Honors Colleges, highlighting similarities in theoretical understandings, curriculum design, instructional strategies, and student support systems while also exploring the challenges faced by both settings. Key topics include identification and inclusion, rigorous and enriched curriculum, interdisciplinary learning, differentiated instruction, mentorship, and community building. A secondary aim of this session is to equip educators with the knowledge and tools to support their students' transition to higher education, ensuring they thrive academically and personally.
