Special and Inclusive Education: Assistive Technology in the Care of Students with Autism and Other Conditions

The use of digital and assistive technology in education and in the production of teaching materials has been beneficial for the development of students, especially those with a condition that requires specialized education. Data from the Technical Summary of the 2022 Higher Education Census (Inep, 2024) shows that the demand for students eligible for special education has been growing in the Brazilian educational system, due to incentives and public policies that promote Inclusive Education. Therefore, the provision of accessible materials becomes imperative when thinking about promoting a more equitable education that meets the specific needs presented by a portion of its audience. Therefore, this study aims to present a mapping of the national and international context regarding the panorama of digital pedagogical materials for the inclusion of students with dual conditions (ASD and Giftedness).
