Impossible is Temporary: Cultivating Compassion and Creativity in Gifted Education
Gifted students thrive when their education nurtures both intellectual ability and emotional growth. This session explores how compassion and creativity intersect in gifted education, guided by The Muhammad Ali Index’s The 2025 Compassion Report and its Five Layers of Compassion: self, individuals, groups, local communities, and the nation. Citing research by Özbey and Sarıçam, Hartsell, and Chowkase and Watve, we examine how compassion-driven creativity enhances problem-solving and social responsibility. Attendees will explore strategies such as project-based learning, reflection, and mentorship to foster both self-expression and empathy, preparing gifted learners to contribute meaningfully to society.
