Teacher Education for Inclusion and for Working with Gifted Students
Teachers have children with different needs and must meet the educational needs of all students, including the gifted, in the teaching-learning and inclusion processes. In Portugal, the topic of giftedness is not highlighted in initial and continuing teacher training, in addition to the absence of mandatory topics such as diversity, inclusion or multicultural education. Based on the results obtained in research with experts in giftedness, parents, students and teachers - and on the contribution of the literature, the work proposes a theoretical model of themes and questions for reflection to be addressed in the initial and continuing training of teachers.
