Predictors of Academic Success Among Gifted Undergraduate Medical Students

There is a long-standing debate regarding predictors of academic success among gifted undergraduate medical students. While some studies show that cognitive factors such as critical thinking, IQ, and academic achievement play an essential role in predicting academic success among gifted students in Doctor of Medicine (MD) program, other researchers stress the significance of non-cognitive factors such as emotional intelligence, and some personality traits including independence and openness to experience. The main objective of the current proposal is to show the main results of a new study that examined predictors that correlate with academic success in undergraduate medical schools considering cognitive and non-cognitive factors.
