Creativity of Korean Students Based on PISA Results and Tests by SIGT
The purpose of this study was to compare the methods and limitations of evaluating students' creativity, with a focus on the Programme for International Student Assessment (PISA) by OECD and the Korea-Integrative Creativity Test (K-ICT) conducted by the Sejong Institute for Gifted and Talented (SIGT) in Republic of Korea. It aimed to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of the two assessment systems and suggest improvement measures to maximize the creative potential of gifted students.
The results of the study showed that while the K-ICT focuses on general creativity in language and figure, PISA emphasizes creative thinking and practical application ability. The results of this study suggest that when assessing creativity in SIGT, it is necessary to supplement the test to effectively measure multifaceted and practical problem-solving aspects, reflecting the global standards of PISA. In addition, SIGT's creativity program needs to be strengthened to foster the global capabilities of Korean students.
