The Future of Gifted Education in our Legislations Based on Solid Foundations of Rigorous Research

The success of an educational program largely depends on the training of education professionals: teachers, psychologists, educational counselors, etc. National and international educational legislation must ensure the identification of gifted students through scientifically recognized and validated tests, followed by the application of the most appropriate educational programs tailored to the needs of each student. In Spain, recent ministerial data confirm that students with specific educational support needs (gifted students) continue to be those who receive the least educational attention, despite the fact that intellectually gifted are represented across all social classes and may also have certain disorders or exhibit academic challenges.
