If you are interested in sharing this information, please consider becoming an exhibitor at the conference. For more information, please contact WCGTC Headquarters at <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"mailto:headquarters@world-gifted.org\">headquarters@world-gifted.org<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8f6334d elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"8f6334d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Proposal Requirements<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4dc0377 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4dc0377\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>All proposals must contain the following information and must be submitted through the online submission form.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Presentation Title<\/strong><br>The presentation title may be no longer than 15 words. This is the title that will be used in the program book.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Presentation Type<br><\/strong>There are four presentation types available. Select the type that best suits your presentation. Due to limited slots in the program, the Academic Committee may need to adjust your presentation type. The types of presentations are:\n<ol>\n<li>A <b>parallel session<\/b> is a 25-minute session in which individuals present material about a specific topic. Interaction in this format is typically limited to questions and answers. Each person may only submit a proposal to be lead presenter on two parallel session presentation.<\/li>\n<li>A <b>panel discussion<\/b> is a 75-minute panel presentation that will involve 3-5 individuals conducting work about a related topic. The lead presenter will be the facilitator. The purpose of a panel discussion is to present work on a similar topic and to engage in discussion. Successful proposals will include clear descriptions of the topics to be discussed and the procedures that will be used to manage the discussion. Each person may only submit a proposal to be lead presenter on one panel discussion.<\/li>\n<li>A <b>roundtable discussion<\/b> is a session designed for more informal discussions with participants. Each session should have a short (3 &#8211; 5 minute presentation) followed by some time for questions and discussion. This format is particularly appropriate for works in progress including doctoral research. (No audio-visual equipment or power supply will be available for roundtable discussions.)<\/li>\n<li>A <b>poster session<\/b> is a 25-minute session in which individuals visually present a research study, program, or project. This format is particularly appropriate for works in progress including doctoral research. Posters will be displayed in a designated location throughout the conference, and there will be a specific time in the schedule for presenters to interact with audiences. (No audio-visual equipment or power supply will be available for poster sessions.)<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<li><b>Acceptance of Alternative Presentation Type<\/b><br>Are you willing to accept an alternate presentation type? (Please note that the alternate format may be a poster.)<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"background-color: transparent;\"><b>Presenter Information<br><\/b>Contact information will be required for all presenters including name, organization, position, mailing and email address, and biography. The biography is limited to 100 words and should be written in the third person. Additional information can be submitted such as website and social media pages, but it is not required. Some of the information provided may be used in the program document such as name, organization, and email. Other information may be used in other online supplements.Additional presenters may be added to the form. Names will be listed in the program in the order they appear in the proposal submission.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Contact Person<br><\/strong>This indicates who will be contacted regarding acceptances and other questions. An additional contact may also be included.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Topic Areas<\/strong><br>You must choose the strand you think best suits your presentation. You may only choose one. Please note that Academic Committee members may choose to move your presentation to a different strand. The strands include:\n<p><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Giftedness and Talent<\/li>\n<li>Creativity and Innovation<\/li>\n<li>Identification<\/li>\n<li>Well-being\/Social and Emotional Needs<\/li>\n<li>Twice\/Multi-Exceptional Learners<\/li>\n<li>Guidance and Counselling<\/li>\n<li>Diversity and Equity in Giftedness<\/li>\n<li>Parenting or Caregiving<\/li>\n<li>Schooling Alternatives for the Gifted and Talented<\/li>\n<li>Advocacy<\/li>\n<li>Leadership Development<\/li>\n<li>Policy<\/li>\n<li>Programming, Curriculum, and Pedagogy<\/li>\n<li>Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM)<\/li>\n<li>Teacher Education\/Preparation<\/li>\n<li>Miscellaneous<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li><strong>Content<\/strong><br>An abstract of no more than 100 words is required. The abstract will be used in the conference program. A context and\/or methods\/justification section of no more than 400 words should also be included. The Academic Committee will use this section when reviewing proposals, but this section will not appear in the conference program. If the primary emphasis of your presentation is research, you must include information regarding the methods for your research. If the primary emphasis of your presentation is practice, you must include information regarding the relevant research\/theory that underpins your presentation.<\/li>\n<li><b>References<\/b><br>You may use this space to provide your references in APA 7 format.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e9f0c4f elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"e9f0c4f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h5 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Additional Notes<\/h5>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e34ec9b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e34ec9b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A computer and projector will be provided in each parallel session and symposium room. Though you may be asked by Headquarters to share your presentation before and\/or after the World Conference, you should bring your presentation on a flash drive, as time will not permit conference personnel to preload presentations onto computers.<\/span><\/p><p>The lead presenter must be registered for the conference to have the presentation included in the program. If other presenters are not attending the conference, their name will be marked with an asterisk (*) in the program to denote they did not participate in the presentation.<\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The conference program will contain your title, abstract, name, and affiliation. Academic Committee or Program Committee members may edit this information<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Due to the large number of presentations, it is not possible to accommodate requests to present on certain days\/times. Submitting a proposal indicates your willingness to present at the day and time the Program Committee schedules your presentation.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Each proposal will be blind reviewed. Your proposal should not contain any identifying information. Proposals containing identifying information will be removed from consideration.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Reviewers may wish to submit written feedback for individuals to view through the online submissions system.
