The WCGTC is partnering with Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted (SENG) to offer Facilitator Training for SENG Model Parent Groups (SMPGs) at the start of the World Conference in Louisville, August 10-11, 2013. This training is open to World Conference attendees and any other interested party. The goal is to expand the outreach of SENG Model Parent Groups to international locations. SMPGs are structured to bring together 10 to 20 interested parents of gifted and talented children to discuss topics such as motivation, discipline, stress management, and peer relationships. Parents who attend are considered rich resources of information and provide much of the content. Facilitators help to provide a non-judgmental and nurturing atmosphere. The cost to participate is $300 and includes materials such as A Parent’s Guide to Gifted Children, and Gifted Parent Groups: The SENG Model, 2nd Edition.
