2017 World Conference Agreement Signing

Conference Manager Jennifer Jolly from the UNSW School of Education and WCGTC President Leslie Graves signing the 2017 World Conference Agreement

On Friday, August 14, 2015, Jennifer Jolly from the UNSW School of Education met with the WCGTC Executive Committee at the conclusion of the 21st Biennial World Conference in Odense, Denmark. During this meeting, Jennifer and WCGTC President Leslie Graves signed the agreement for hosting the 22nd Biennial World Conference in Sydney, Australia.

In conjunction with the WCGTC EC, the LCC has decided upon the following strands for the conference:

  1. Giftedness and Talent: Models, Research, and Practice
  2. Creativity: Research and Practice
  3. Identification: Models, Instruments, and Approaches
  4. Social and Emotional Needs
  5. Twice-Exceptional Learners
  6. Guidance and Counselling
  7. Diversity in Giftedness
  8. Parenting or Care Giving
  9. Schooling Alternatives for the Gifted and Talented
  10. Advocacy: National, State, Regional, and Local
  11. Leadership Development
  12. Programming, Curriculum, and Pedagogy
  13. Educational Technology

The EC and LCC believe these strands encompass many different topics and go well with the Global Perspectives in Gifted Education theme. Both the EC and LCC are excited to work together to organize the conference.

  1. I am looking forward to returning “down under.” The precedent set by Australia in the two World Conferences held there suggests that we will have another great conference. I appreciate having the information on strands, etc. at this early date. Good luck to the Sydney Leadership Team.

    • Thanks for your kind words, Bob. We are excited about the conference and cannot wait to see you again. Let me know if you need anything or have any questions!

      • Will do, Tyler, and if there is anyway I can assist you or the World Council, please don’t hesitate to call upon me.

  2. Awesome
