3.1.6 Ideas Matter! Fostering Social Entrepreneurship & Philanthropy in Gifted Learners

Social entrepreneurship is perfect for gifted and talented youth. It capitalizes on their need for meaningful activity, engages their high moral standards, and challenges their complex and creative thinking abilities. Come learn ways to empower your students through social entrepreneurship which is founded on the recognition that social problems require new thinking and new approaches. Creativity, fortitude, the ability to ask critical questions, empathy, and passion are all critical components, along with a strategic aptitude for building an employable business model. Recognizing the talents and abilities in your gifted learner and methods for fostering his or her entrepreneurial spirit is the initial focus of this presentation. We will discuss your role in developing their ideas into solutions, participate in starting a business plan, and check out a few ingenious and effective non-profits formed by young gifted entrepreneurs who are changing the world!
