4.2.3 How to Create a More Well-Rounded Gifted and Talented Program with Booster Program Components

In this session a charter school system will share the different booster activities they are offering to enhance their GT program. When the program got revamped in 2013, the program structure contained STEM focused curriculum modules as well as booster components to enhance the program outside the GT classroom. The intent of these booster components is to both increase parent engagement as well as providing growth opportunities for gifted students in stimulating their intellectual abilities as well as their social and emotional growth. We will discuss all the different components we have added to our GATE program over the years and the impact they have had as well as implementation guidelines to help others in expanding their programs with these components.
