The WCGTC® Executive Committee has selected Prof. Dr. Sheyla Blumen as the next Editor-in-Chief of Gifted and Talented International for 2023 – 2028. Dr. Blumen is a Full Professor in Psychology and Education and Head of the Academic Department of Psychology at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. She has been a long supporter of gifted education and the WCGTC®, attending her first World Conference in 1991. Her scholarly editing experience has spanned three decades working with the Revista de Psicologia in Peru that is published in English, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
“I am happy to announce Dr. Sheyla Blumen as the new editor of GTI” said Denise Fleith, WCGTC President. “She has been a longtime supporter of gifted education. With her experience and expertise, Dr. Blumen is going to be a great asset to the WCGTC. I welcome and look forward to working with her!”
Dr. Blumen noted, “International cooperation in talent development may lead to a turning point in social change. And Gifted and Talented International (GTI) is the scientific tool that contributes to making this happen.”
Dr. Blumen will transition to work with the current editor of GTI, Leonie Kronborg, on October 1, 2022. Her official tenure as Editor-in-Chief will begin January 1, 2023.

Gifted and Talented International (GTI) is the journal of the World Council for Gifted and Talented Children. GTI an international, refereed journal devoted to publishing original research, theoretical studies, review papers or accounts of practice that contribute to our understanding and promotion of giftedness, talent, creativity, and optimal development of children, adolescents, and adults. Its purpose is to share current theory, research, and practice in gifted education with its audience of international educators, scholars, researchers, and parents. GTI is published twice a year.
