The 2009 World Council presidential vote closed on Monday, March 9th, and Headquarters is pleased to announce that the next president of the World Council is Dr. Taisir Subhi Yamin. We send him our congratulations and our very best wishes for a successful term of office.
Registration Deadline for Conference Presenters Extended The deadline for conference presenters to register has been extended to May 15th to match the early registration deadline, in order to provide additional time required for those who are still in the process of obtaining visas, securing institutional funding, and pursuing sponsorships.

The official voters’ list for the 2009 World Council elections will be posted on Friday, February 13th in the Members’ Area. Please, ensure that your membership status is current until April 20th. Individuals with lapsed memberships as of February 13th will not be able to vote in the March elections.
Headquarters has been receiving hundreds of proposals for the Vancouver conference in the past several days. The number of proposals is very encouraging and indicates the likelihood of a well-attended conference. The sheer volume is such that a response to your proposal may not be immediate. Nominations for the 2009 WCGTC elections for President and four Executive Committee positions close at midnight CST on December 1st. Upon the completion of the review proces by the Elections Committee, the slate of candidates will be publicized.
